[Cz-L] PROVERB

In old Czernowitz there was a proverb:
" Hulie Kapzen, Dr-ck is volvel".
   Hulie - from Slav Guliat meaning rejoice ,celebrate.
   Kapzen, Slav,destitute .
    Dr-ck from German ,excrements.
     Volvel ,Slav , cheap, inexpensive.
   The saying was adapted to situations when rejoicing was ill-suited.
     We laughed as how the upper class Czernowitzer would use this
 proverb converted into Hochdeutsch. Here is the version:
   " Jubeliere Proletarier, Unrat ist wohlfeil".
  For our Americans:
    "Celebrate ye destitute, excrements are inexpensive"
