My recollection is that my mother used the expressions "Gournish
magournish(?)" and "tsuris," when she heard something she thought was silly, foolish or
crazy.

Wilhelm Busch, Schiller , Ghoete and more.
If a quote is undrrstood in Germany or Austria then it is not from Cz.
A real Czernowitz vernacular would not be understood in Radauti.
