[Cz-L] Latest about the Popovici plaque

I agree with Andy and then some.

The current position the City government is, in my view, simply an
attempt to 'sanitize' history. If the administration cannot honour the
total man including his native tongue, nationality and his
accomplishments, then I think that not only do we dishonour Popovici
by whittling away at his memorial, but we dishonour ourselves for
becoming a willing partner in this nonsensical whitewashing of the
facts.

I know how disheartening it must be for Mimi and others who worked so
very hard to bring this project to fruition, but what will it say of
us Czernowitz Jews, if in the end we give tacit consent to this not so
subtle historical revisionism?
