Yiddish comes from medieval German of a certain area on the Rhein.
  But living among the Slav people in the East of Europe for so long had
  its impact. Our Yiddish was full of Ukrainean words ( almost no Rumanian).
    Take the words that begin with Zh. No German word starts wit a Zh.
     Zhabe from the Ukrainean Zhaba = Frog.
      In German it is Frosch. A Jew who spoke only Yiddish wouldnt know
what Frosch meant.
     Zhaver from Uk. izhavra = rust , in German - Rost . A jew wouldnt know
what it meant.
       We would say Farzhavert as in german Verrostet , a germanification of
the Uk. word.
      Take zhaleven from Uk. with many meanings. To begrudge, to spare.
