Hi,
I believe that the street where your paternal grandparents lived (Svyatoi
Trietsi St.) is the Dreifaltigkeitsgasse (Germ.) - Sfinta Treimi (Rom.) and
Bogdana Khmelnitskogo (Ukr.). It is a major thoroughfare in the eastern part
of the city running from the University to the Sprigbrunnenplatz near the
old Jewish quarter. The lower part of the street was inhabited predominantly
by Jews who felt that the naming of the street after Bogdan Khmelnitsky was
an insult to the memories of over 100,000 Polish Jews who were massacred by
this Cossack hetman and his troops in 1648-49.
I cannot help you with the Kurschnergasse.
Regards,
Fred Schneider
