Yes, correct, when I visited Czernowitz for the first time in 1999, with
my mother, we too saw the gates of the hospital and were not allowed
inside due to the
mud slide, as we were told.
Yes, although I never lived in this city, the decaying and at the same
time picturesque buildings and debris, for me, and certainly I can speak
for all of us, give me a
feeling of sadness and longing for the city that has been.
