Dear Lucca,
When I was in Czernowitz with the Reunion in May 2006, I visited the
cemetery several times, looking for several graves. There were a few
locals always standing around, and a Romanian woman, who were ready to
find the graves for a sum of $10-30. All they had to know was the name
and the date. Since you have such a good photograph, I am sure that
someone can help you. The Romanian woman found me all the graves I was
looking for, although two were completely sunk in the earth and
overgrown. Charles also met a man there who speaks fluent French (!) and
who helped him, but my woman, I believe she was called Maria, really
knows the place. Hope it might help you.
Kind regards,
Gabriele
