Hi Steve - your email jogged my memory to a passage from my journal from my
first trip back to CZ in 1996. "....I buy an old postcard and a small turn
of the century studio portrait of a nondescript young man with a carnation
in his lapel. It interests me more for what it says on the back than for
the actual image. Atelier Riviera, Czernowitz, Hauptstrasse 16. - die
platte bleibt f=FCr nachbestellung auf bewahrt, with crowns, seals and othe=
r
curlicue designs of another era....."

all best
Sylvia
