And oh, that marvelous feeling,
Just to know my Bubbe was here.
And whoa, that startling feeling,
That any second great grandma Sure might appear!

I discovered the Café Vienna, Mimi, to my great delight, just a day or two
before I left Cz. It is probably a good thing I didn't find it earlier!

In reading stuff on line about the recent Yiddish conference, I came across
a mention, from prior to the conference, that a Yiddish version of My Fair
Lady was planned as part of it. I've seen Man of La Mancha in Spanish, in
Peru ( Yo soy yo, Don Quixote, El Hombre de la Mancha.) But can you imagine
My Fair Lady in Yiddish?! How would one translate "The rain in Spain.!? I
guess they decided not to do it, too bad.

On another topic, thanks to all who provided me with photos and/or memories
to incorporate into my presentation to my mother's women's group in New York
recently. I was so gratified by all the responses from people attending, as
was my mother. After presenting the volunteers and cemetery work, I
"introduced" some of you, and then ended with photos of my great grandmother
Sure Jeres Glaubach and grandmother Regina Glaubach Malmeth. There is only
one known photo of Sure, and very few of Regina because, according to my
mother she was very vain and hated to have her picture taken. Oh, and for
music, Oyfn Pripechuck and Hava Nagila!

Now I just have to figure out how to consolidate the PP into half the time
for my next presentation to my husband's Rotary club!

Joanna
