[Cz-L] Establishing a cemetery restoration organization

Dear All,

As I prepare to go to Czernowitz for the unveiling of the Popovici
memorial plaque and plan possible meetings with city officials
in order to discuss the restoration of the Jewish cemetery,
I become convinced that we need a separate group or organization
which will both discuss and come to definite conclusions about
the restoration of the cemetery, as well as be able to set up
a "not for profit" fund to do such work as possible and necessary.
I think that such an organization is needed so that those who are elected
to head it, represent and are entitled to speak for all of us who want
to restore and maintain the Jewish cemetery of Chernivtsi.
In addition, such an organization will be able to collect and disburse
funds collected for any work to be done.

The Czernowitz-List is not an organization and cannot claim to speak
for all those interested in restoring the cemetery. Many Czernowitzers
are not members of the list. We do not have elected spokes-people and
cannot raise funds.
The fact that our correspondence is published on the "ehpes" website,
is very welcome for information purposes, but too public to be suitable
for the discussion of certain matters related to the cemetery.

I would like to know whether there are others who share my view,
whether there is opposition to this view or any other suggestions.
