This is a Czernowitz map of 1870.
Expand map by clicking arrows at right lower corner.
Many changes - street names etc.
There were two Herrengassen : Upper and lower.
The lower was the Josefsgasse from the Armenier to Neueweltgasse.
Rezzori wrote about this but I did not understand .
The jail was : The" Criminal ".
"Er sitzt in Criminal" was the saying ,in our times too.
No Temple ,no Theatre, no Musikverrein, no Jewish cemetery.,no railroad.
Different street names. The Fischplatz was Getreidemarkt (cereal market) .
The Stefaniegasse was Landhausgasse.
Austriaplatz was Holzplatz and many more.
