I am well aware of what has happened in the last 10 years and is happening
right now in parts of China, yet I do not understand how such things are
possible. Think about the "mythos Czernowitz", reasonably well educated
people, living under an enlightened government in peace, if not harmony.
The government changes and all moral, religious and human precepts are
cast aside as people behave in a manner which normally would be considered
a form of extreme mental illness. And yet there were people, who despite the
danger to themselves were willing to oppose their governments, occasionally
also the mobs, in order to protect the victims.
