As you may remember the volunteers from ASF are currently working
at the cemetery to clear another area of sapling trees and creeping vines.
Christian Hermann yesterday spoke by phone with Christine Bishatka,
who is in charge of arranging work-camps for ASF. She told Christian that it
is their intention to continue having work-camps at the Czernowitz Jewish
cemetery for the next 3 to 5 years. (I hope that in three years we shall
only require maintenance work). Also, next year they will bring with them
people who specialize and are experienced at erecting gravestones which
have fallen or threaten to fall.
