Rumanian Culture in North Bucovina.
The Jews did not contribute much to Rumanian culture in N. Bucovina.
They didnt have the language and the background.
But from Suceava came Norman Manea who is considered the best living
Rumanian writer .( But this is not N. Bucovina).
Why does it not refer to Jews and antisemitism ?
How can you ignore The Jews in an Almanach of culture of the Romanians
of N. Bucovina ? Well , the readers this book is directed to wont notice
or mind.
This is 2009 - the world has changed:
1. Cultural Almanach of N.Bucovina - no Jews mentioned.
2. Jewish Museum of Bucovina - no Holocaust mentioned.
3. Czernowitz City Hall - no Traian Popovici as mayor mentioned (
promise to amend).
4. The Temple - no jewish holiness mentioned.
The Cemetery being our center of activity.
