[Cz-L] The Mamaliga Test

The Test.
  This I remember .
 On the corner Russische - Morariogasse lived a
freshly married couple .
   They were of the poor Czernowitzer Jews from the bottom of the bottom.
   A week or so after the marriage the family were invited for a mamaliga
feast.
Parents and uncles and aunts and babes and zeides .
 About a dozen noisy people with noisy children.
   Now on mamaliga preparation :
After brought to boil ,during continuous stirring
   the mamaliga starts forming small volcanos that erupt spewing steam.
     Here comes the decision of the specialist - he must decide when it's
ready -by this volcanic display.
          Not too early - not too late. With a swift move the cook must
overturn
the pot
     and the mamaliga must come out leaving the pot clean .
       In our case it did not - the grooms aunts declared the bride a
"shtinkerin".
     The brides family responded accordingly .
       Soon saucers were flying - we watched through the windows.
       The voices were loud and the neighbours came out to join in.
         This much I remember.
