Is the Nataly Shevchenko listed below in Gadi Rennert's post of 10/4/09,
regarding the second book mentioned "Das Judische Czernowitz Album by Nataly
Shevchenko and Helmut Kusdat Wien 2009", the same person as Natalya
Shevchenko, about whom Miriam Taylor wrote (see 2nd email below) in part on
4/17/2008 "Natalya Shevchenko has sent me a list of the people who have
photographs displayed on the "ehpes" site, which she would like to use. I
will contact these people individually and ask that they send me high
resolution copies of the photographs, which I will copy to a disk and send
to Natalya"?
Also see Miriam Taylor's post of Fri, 11 Apr 2008 23:43:33 -0400, wherein
she wrote in part "At the same time, I would urge all those who have
material relevant to the whole exhibition; photographs, documents and
letters, to scan this material and send the scans to Natalya Shevchenko. I
have written her and asked her to let us know how best to get this material
to her. I expect I will have her answer in the next few days".
The reason I ask is that I thought the photos (as well as documents, etc.)
were to be sent to Ms.
Shevchenko solely for the purpose of possible inclusion as an exhibit in the
CZ Jewish Museum
(Museum of the Jews of Bucovina). I do not recall seeing anything written
about the photos
(or documents) being included in a book to be written by Ms. Shevchenko,
which I assume is a
for-profit venture.
If indeed, they are both one and the same person, have the donors of the
photos (and documents), including the ehepes website, given express
permission to Ms.
Shevchenko, for the inclusion in her book of the photos and/or documents so
provided to her?
If so, are the proceeds from the sale of the book (after deducting all
expenses related to its
production and distribution) to be given (donated) to the CZ Jewish Museum
(Museum of the
Jews of Bucovina)?
Just curious!

Thanks to Marianne for sending us the exhibition outline as sent
to her by Natalya. This seems reasonable, if a little overemphasizing
the religious aspect of Jewish life in Czernowitz.
Natalya Shevchenko has sent me a list of the people who have photographs
on the "ehpes" site, which she would like to use.
I will contact these people individually and ask that they send me high
resolution copies of the photographs, which I will copy to a disk and send
to Natalya.
