I couldn't access the movie, but your synopsis was quite satisfactory. Why
would anybody inquire about the ideological tilt, it was obviously a
communist piece of propaganda, with scant relation to the truth. And if the poor
peasants were eating mamaliga, they were ethnic Romanians, not the local
Hutzuls. The "liberation" brought us the new shopping method "standing in
line". The soviet required accessory for every housewife, was an "ovozka"
which was an empty shopping bag, (ovoz in Russian means maybe).
