Here is a newspaper clip from a Romanian paper . The year must be 1940-41.
And here is what it says:
" The Jews are leaving Galati,
From Galati the Jews leave in masses. With no difference of social status
or length of stay in Romania , the Jews turn towards the land of the
Soviets.
Daily ,long columns of carriages loaded with luxury suitcases
make
their way to the little port of Reni.
Daily the quay near the NFR palace gets new guests, arranging their
passage.
Some of them seem happy , jocose....Nothing , not a shadow of nostalgy
or pain for the land they leave behind , for the hospitable Rumanian
land
and people."
What do you think ?
