Dear All,

This year, like in the two preceding years, SVIT Ukraine will hold a
work-camp at the Jewish cemetery in Chernivtsi.

The participants in these work-camps come from all over the world and beside
the work they do at the cemetery, benefit from getting to know and interact
with each other, as well as getting to know the history and the way of life
of both; current Chernivtsi as well as the large Jewish community of the
city during the pre-world war two period.

If you would like to volunteer to participate in this year's work-camp, or
know of others who might wish to do so, here is the information about how
and to whom to apply:

Applicants for the work-camp, need to apply, each to a SCI (Service Civil
International) branch or organization, in the country of their residence.
To find a branch or partner organization in a particular country, access
<www.sciint.org>.
At this website, there is also a description of the work-camp.

Applications will be considered starting March 15th.

Beside looking for volunteers to participate in the work-camp, I am also
looking for member(s) of this list, who are willing to spend a few days in
Chernivtsi, at the time of the work-camp, in order to explain and tell the
participating volunteers about Jewish traditions, the Jewish community of
Czernowitz, its history and traditions.

I have done this in the two previous years and have found the volunteers to
be a very interested and interesting group of people, very well intentioned
and congenial, a true joy to be with.
I will not be able to travel to Chernivtsi this summer and hope that at
least one of you will volunteer to do so.

Mimi
