Hello Hardy,
How did you get this Zeleny market picture? How old is it?
I was very surprised to see the Dr Noe sign among the rest of the
items on display.
On April 20th 2009,the day before the Popovici Plaque inauguration,
Mimi Taylor and I were wandering on the street were Popovici lived
-Karolinengasse.
At some point we entered through the gate of a building to look at
the inner yard.On one of the doors inside we saw an old sign which
caught my attention.I remembered the name Dr Noe from stories told by
my grandmother. So I took the two pictures attached.
Visibly somebody came after us and removed the sign.
Interesting how things do work out sometimes...Maybe we should have
knocked on the door and asked to pay 5 Hrivnia for the sign...

The Zeleny market is corner Zeleny - Russischegasse.
Where you take the lefty for the cemetery.
Not much of a market - no stands or booths.
The merchandise is displayed on the ground.
Selling place of people who have nothing more to sell.
Here on display is the house plate of Dr Ossy Noe , pediatrician at
the Jewish Hospital.
If you offer for it 5 Hrivnya ( 50 cents) the seller will celebrate.
But nobody will offer .
Maybe somebody who needs a piece of sheet metal to mend the roof.
It should find its way to the Jewish Museum.
It probably will not.
Hardy
