Hello All

Thank you to those who responded to my introduction

My mother often described as a little girl her discomfort at her families
weekly walks in the Volksgarten dressed in their finest clothes in order to
be seen by the "right people". In the photo from 1935 posted at

One can see the required method of holding your coat just right

Do others have memories of these promenades

Another question in almost all the family pictures almost all the little
girls have big bows on top of their heads- Was this the Czernowitz way or
perhaps a wider European practice
