Czernowitzers...
There were many important writers and journalists among the Jews of Bukovina. In the year 1932 Arnold Schwarz founded a new daily newspaper, "Der Tag" (The Day), which ceased publication after a few years in the year 1935. A week ago we started, as a one-week-test-run, to release on
http://czernowitzdaily.blogspot.com/
the Czernowitz daily newspaper Der Tag - The Day under the motto:
DER TAG - THE DAY IN CZERNOWITZ SEVENTY-EIGHT YEARS AGO TODAY
During this week (12.03.1932-20.03.2010) three major events hit the headlines:
* Elections for the President of the Reich and the election outcome for Hitler
* Ivar Kreuger's suicide and the Global Economy Crisis
* The failed foundation of the Danubian Confederation
One week is now over, the feedback is positive and so we'll keep publishing day by day (except on Maondays) the "newest" edition of Der Tag - The Day. Today's headline is
* Goethe
who deceased 100 years ago today (22.03.1932). His dying words were: Mehr Licht! - More Light!
Enjoy the reading and have a nice time journey!
