[Cz-L]The Tempel

Dear Marianne and Leo,
May I too, congratulate you on the highly interesting, and also
familiar, discussion panel, we watched it from the beginning to end and
are looking forward to the film. We tried to order and did not get
through, in spite of indicating name, address, etc. on the formular.
Have sent a reminder but no answer to date.
The Tempel if returned as a synagogue - 1500 Jewish persons left in
Czernowitz - not enough for a minion? Hardys photos show us a desecrated
house of God.
Of course, you can't turn the clock back, but even if it not to be used
as a synagogue again, it should be given back to the Community. Maybe to
move the small museum from the Jewish House to deploy more exhibits, to
show more history and what has been lost and of course, to learn about
Joseph Schmidt, hear his wonderful voice and see his films. It probably
won't happen so soon, if ever.
