Nice photograph and the new building on the left, which can only be seen
partially, is a nice building. My own associations with the Russichegasse
are strange; it is a long street and lacks particular landmarks. In the fall
of 1944, I accompanied a school-friend to her home on this street, on the
way back to my home, I lost my way and arrived home as my mother was going
to the police to ask that they start looking for me. Last summer, I was
supposed to meet the head of the Jewish community at the functioning
synagogue, just off this street. I lost my way again, had to ask two, three
passers-by for directions and arrived at the synagogue late.
