The school on Hardy's picture was reopened in Soviet times as School number 6.
My brother went there between 1955 and 1963, I was there between 1960 and 1963.
Then there was a school reform in which they extended the school time from 10 years to 11.
School 6 was designated to be a high school, so only for the last 3 years (classes 9, 10 and 11).
I was moved together with my whole class to School 2, Siebenbürgerstrasse, just on the corner of the cathedral.
Few years later they shelved the school reform and reinforced a 10 years scholl time and school 6 again became a "normal" school.
Irene, yes this was the school of my mother and of my grandma as well.
Sorry that I answer in English, but there are descendants of chernowitzers around who do not speak German.
To you and all who care: Chag Pessah sameah !
Alex

Corner Landhaus - Turkengasse was
