[Cz-L] Archives and Old Suczka

Hello Aizic,
Have been four times to Czernowitz, three times by plane via Lviv. At
the airport we had to complete customs forms for entry into Ukraine, and
had to state how much money we were bringing with us. However, when
leaving the country, nobody asked anything, so I assume it is just a
formality. If you go to the archives, it might be useful to go with
someone who speaks Russian or Ukrainean, and there is a nominal fee to
pay. Wish you success and bon voyage.

My grandfather had a milk-powder factory in Old Suczka, maybe you
remember it? His son, Martin Meerbaum (Mocca), at present in Florida,
although very young at the time, was in charge of the factory. When the
Russians arrived in 1940, they confiscated and later demolished it.
