 The director of the Jewish Museum.
   What strikes me is the complete ignorance of the episode.
   Somebody said she attended the plate inauguration.
   Did she ?
 Even if her allegations are true ,how can you ignore an event that
  saved the lives of 20,000 people ( no matter how).
   Traian Popovici will stay linked to Jewish history of Czernowitz even
    if he took money for the permits ( he did not ).
    Bribes were paid to low rank apparatchiks -this is unavoidable.
   History is not always nice ,but it still is history and a Museum is there
   to tell it.
    If we filter history and show only "positive" events we have to throw
   half of it into the garbage bin.
     Let her caption Popovici as she likes - he will stay in the Czernowitz
     narrative of its darkest hours as a ray of hope.

Popovici certainly DID NOT SELL THE AUTHORIZATIONS, HE ISSUED

Who is Yevgenia Finkel? And what are her credentials?

If Yad Vashem declared Traian Popovici a "Righteous among the Nations" and
Radu Ioanid of the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC, gives evidence of all
Traian Popovici did in order to save the Jews of Czernowitz from being
deported, if we consider that in 1942, marshal Antonescu had Popovici
deposed from being mayor, if I, a Czernowitzer who lived in Czernowitz at
the time and was saved from being deported, never heard my parents or their
friends say that they had to bribe Popovici, does Yevgenia Finkel, know
better? Was she there?

It is necessary to answer this article in live journal, the truth should
prevail. Would someone volunteer to collect evidence from us, the survivors,
And write to live Journal?

If it is Natalya Shevchenko, who asserted that Popovici was not better than
Schindler, I will write to her myself.

Hardy and anyone else who knows more about this, please let us know more.
