Hello Edgar,
It would be interesting to know the reason for erecting the Bakshish
monument. Monuments are usually not erected as signs of sarcasm.
Who paid for the monument? Is it meant to disparage the Austrians?
What is the political background of the erection of this monument?
What was put up first; Empress Maria Theresia on the face of a coin,
symbolizing corruption, or the statue of Kaiser Franz Joseph, donated
to the city by Arsenyi Yatzenuk?
