We do not sing like Yves Montand, we are not homesick for the new boulevards
and avenues, we would sing about the Volksgarten, the garden in front of the
theatre, the Herrengasse and the Ringplatz.

You have no idea how happy I am that those still are as they were.
The Herrengasse has been closed to traffic and planted with trees, but this
is an improvement and in no way changes the atmosphere.

In Czernowitz most of the old buildings and streets have been preserved,
compare this to many cities in Romania, where during communist times, ugly,
tall apartment houses were built right in the old city centers, obscuring
the views of mountains and the nice old buildings.
