Has old Czernowitz been preserved ?
They also "preserve" the Jewish cemetery and shils.
They just havent got the cash to do big projects.
They havent even rebuilt the north side of the Ringplatz.
But now they plan a new mall and parking on the Liliengasse.
And painted the buildings in yellow ,blue and pink.
And removed the old stairs of the Turkengasse.
It is all a matter of cash , not a policy of preserving the nostalgia.
Nostalgia is wonderful for the 2-3 day tourist and the camera.
Living there is not so exciting.
