Why do you call these beliefs Angsts ?
If I understand right ,Angst as in German means anxiety, fear.
We were not afraid of anything but we believed that by doing
certain things we could avoid misfortunes.
To be on the safe side.
These were rites ,very old , coming from middle age traditions,
most of them pagan.
Like putting a glass of water in the window sill during a storm.
To avoid lightning.
Never drink cold water after eating pears , or you'll get the
"Sratchke"
of your lifetime.
Sratchke is loose stomach in Ruthenian.
