An ill famed girl was called "a Shmatkale", a stupid woman - " a Baheme",
a bad housewife - "a Shlimesalnetzeh" and a capable woman - "a Briyeh".
A nasty woman was called "a Klavteh", an ill favored woman - a Metzieh",
A gossip - a Yachneh", a good housewife - "a Balebusteh".
All these terms for women!
For men there were other terms;
Shlimmazel, Shlemiel, Shnorer, Schwantz, Shmegegeh, Shleper, Paskudniak,
Puritz, a Mechibediker Yid, Talmid Choochem, a groiser Coochem, a kabtzen,
a kamtzen, a Mensch, a milchediker ( by which is not meant a milkman),
a melamed, and a "Nye beh nye meh nye kukeriku".
