[Cz-L] "Entire Region of North Bukovina"

What about before 70 years (before 1940)?

Do you have an index of all the shteitels, towns
cities included in the "entire region of North
Bukovina," or maybe know where it is available?

My cousin Harriet Kasow and I returned last month
from a genealogical trek to Czernowitz and the shteitels
and towns nearby. We visited the central archives of
Czernowitz, but came out nearly empty handed, just a measly,
very few documents.

Om the other hand I just heard after returning from the
trek that at the Moldova central archives they have
documents from the 19th century (70 plus, plus years) of
the Khotin region which was also part of North Bukovina.

Have you had any experience/success with the Moldova archives?

My father was born in Klishkovtsi (Klishkovitz in Yiddish)
and my mother in Shirivtsi (Sheravitz in Yiddish) both on
the Khotin - Chernivtsi road. Despite the fact that this
was a part(1815-1918) of the Russian Empire, Bessarabia,
my parents and all my family always called this area
"Bessarabia- Bucovina." So are these shteitels including
the town Khotin part of what you term "North Bukovina?"
