Hi miriam,You wished for your mother, the same year born like me, to know
about me: her a short bio... I was born in September 1918,My name was Hedy
Langhaus I am sorry I do not had a classmate with the name of your
mother..., The primary school was theComenius-School in the Landhausgasse,
afterwords I learned at the LF2, until the baccaulearat, I studies one year
Law,and worked as secretary in a factory,, I won a big sum at lottery, so I
was able to go for sttudies to Vienna, but at 19 you have some idias, some
dreams...I would like to study medicine, but my aunt in Vienna said,it is to
long study, fearn about arts...I went one semester to the university and my
uncle, the brother of my mother invited me to come for a couple of weeks to
Geneva, Switzerland,,so I was cca 3 months there, went to the university at
"Ecole pratique de lanngue francaise"
and came back to Vienn the same day, when the german army and
SS.entere.After 5 days with the Hitlerjugend singing on the streets the
"Horst Wessel Lied"and the deportation of my cousin to Dachau, with fear in
the nights and an unprevisibble future for my family, I got a stamp on my
roumanian passport to be aloud to return to Roumania, Czernowitz,,,that was
march 1938....If your mother can read german, I could send you my last book,
appeared a month ago... "Mein altes Czernowitz" The years after 1938 is
history, i lived, capitalism, antisemitism, ghetto, communisme,
eliberation,but, 40 years comunisme with Ceausescu, and, in 1982 Allliya to
Israel...a long life with many events...Now I am publishing the 4.volume of
my "Unconventionnal Lexicon, : Jewish Women in Visual Arts"" from all over
the world., it, will be available I hope, ForSeptember.. I was invited for
lectures to Berlin and Vienna, I hope, in my age hope is written with HHHH
I will be able to travel...
