I have been away from the web for a few days and am so happy to catch up. The tale by Mike about the escape of his father on the train through Germany was gripping; had me chewing my fingernails with worry as I read. What a relief when the SS officer stepped in to vouch for him. A littIe mazel and a bottle of schnaps has probably saved many lives.
I had also begun to worry about Hardy worrying, but when I read that he paused worrying on Fridays and Saturdays, I stopped worrying myself.
Then there were the photos from Linda and finding the picture of a schoolmate and learning of her family on the same boat as my aunt and cousin and I feel at home again.
