Hello to all and Kenneth Cutler especially.

When I glanced at this message, the name RUBEL hit a note. I checked my
family tree and see that a JACOB RUBEL married my blood relative, a
great-aunt, BERTHA LEHR. I have no specific information on either, however
my grandmother was born in 1888, so that would be roughly the time-frame.
According to my tree, MARTHA and JACOB had 2 children, ILSE (m to HERBERT
BERAL, emigrated to Australia HERBERT died many years ago,) and MARTHA RUBEL
(who married her cousin ALFRED GOLDBERG, later GORDEY, also emigrated to
Australia .ALFRED died many years ago.). I believe that ILSE is still alive,
but have no current or semi-current information on MARTHA.

Is any of this related to your information ? Czernowitz, as we all know, is
a very old Jewish population center, so there could be connections that are
still undiscovered. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Bob

Subject: [Cz-L] New find from Cz archives at LDS

Hi everyone,

I received from LDS the films for archives corresponding to my Great
Grandfather Josef Rubel's birth. Now for the first time, I find that his
mother's name was Rachel!! I believe the last name to be Kinsbruner. Does
anyone know that family and its connection to the Rubels? Josef or Jossel's
father, is Chaim Mordechai Rubel who's grave is in Cz and a photo of it and
the registry were sent to me already. There are 2 Rachel Kinsbruners buried
in Cz but no Rachel Rubel. Was it a practice to bury the wife in the family
plot with her maiden name? I also found that Josef had a brother, Feibisch
or Teibisch whom I believe to be Philipp Rubel who lived in Vienna and died
and was buried there in 1938. I will send copies of both birth records for
anyone if you want to see them and ask if anyone can read what Rachel's name
is, what the profession of Chaim was (under his name), and what the note
regarding what appears to be "legitimacy" says under Feibisch's name.
Thanks!!
