All men wore " Anzuege" suits that is.
From the fine tweed costumes of the rich down to the shabby.
sloppy of the middle class tradesmen to the rags of the beggars.
The greasy ,oil stained , herring smelling suits of the grocers
or naphta smelling of the kerosene dealer.
Most would also wear ties.
And hats . A little slanty , like Jean Gabin.
After the war the fashion was battle dresses ,american style.
The material was green army blankets , a little heavy but warm.
