Does anyone in our list know of a man named Hersonski. He tutored in all subjects. I vaguely recall that he came from Besarabia but in 1939 he was in Czernowitz. I recall him telling me about a problem he had with his name. If you were asked what your name was, it would have been bad form to respond with "Mr." before your name. In his case that would have been "Herr Hersonski. " But when he responded with his name alone, people sometimes misunderstood and assumed he was saying "Herr Sonski," and then he would get funny looks. I've often thought of him and hoped he survived, though by now he would be close to 100. It never occurred to me to query our list which, as far as Cz is concerned can make this a small world.
