Sorry you did not get the idea. I emphasized that he approached a
lady, and was ashamed to say to her "a Kile," therefore he said in
German. A Yid in Czernowitz, who assumed to know German, knew exactly
what a Leistenbruch is. The first joke was the answer to Sprechen Sie
deutsch : Awade!
