Because Anny used a few German expressions and because I agree with much
that she wrote, I will translate the German words.
=B3Liebe Unbekannte Freunde=B2 means: =8Cbeloved unknown friends=B9.
=B3Czernowitz ist keine Stadt, es ist eine Weltanschaung=B2 means: =8CCzernowitz
is not a city, but an ideology/ world view.=B9

I completely agree with Anny=B9s uncle, who pronounced this opinion.
It was not necessarily what people in Czernowitz achieved, but what they
hoped and wanted to achieve.
I am particularly impressed with what I believe people in Czernowitz, to
have striven for, from the late 19th century to the 1930ies.

Last year, one of my friends was with me in Czernowitz and wanted to see
Cecina, which he had heard a lot about from his mother.
We went up to the Cecina Hill and my friend was puzzled, he asked: This is
it? =8CYes=B9 I said, =8CCecina was not a place but and idea, an attitude=B9.
When I got home I sent him photographs to explain what I meant. I will send
these photographs to Jerome, and when he will have time,
I hope he will post them on our website.
