Cornel,
fighting the Turks (not all the time, by the way) and adopting a
Moorish style in architecture do not necessarily contradict each
other. A case in point - thousands of buildings with Moorish
architecture all over Austria-Hungary, including dozens of synagogues
in Vienna, Prague, Budapest, and, yes, Czernowitz Temple, a great
example of Moorish Revival style
