I am ovewhelmed at the generalisation and the inclusion of all other inhabitants
of Czernowitz in this debate, were my concern
was the Jewish population only. There is a comparison now about the fate of the
Poles, Roumanian and anybody else this was not my intention. I admire you for
your conciliatory gestures and opinions. I was only a boy who became to soon
aware for being Jewish. I may
not be to accurate or precise. Maybe the happenings around me and my family are
as painful today as they were then. I do not denigrate
anybody. I would rather say the people who supported us in the dark days with
food and protection were Poles, Roumanian and others.
As we seem to have such diverse opinions and the subject mater is becoming more
contraversial and respecting your opinions without conceding I will leave the
mater be..

If Anti-Semitism is an evil, and in my opinion, it is, hatred of any other
nationality or ethnic group is evil too.
The statue of Kaiser Franz Josef was given to the city by a political
candidate who hoped to play on the sympathy of Western Ukrainians.
It was not paid for by the city.
