Sorry, my dear friend Arthur.
As far as I know, Anstreicher is not a common family name. In Czernowitz,
there was a distinction between an Anstreicher, a professional who was
painting doors, windows and wooden floors using oil paint, and a so-called
"Maler" whose work was to paint walls, ceilings and staircases with lime and
other whitewash, but not oil based paints. Nevertheless, many of those
professionals pretended to have experience in both professions.

whose name is Josef and who by profession was a painter. He lived in the

FYI.My grandmother had a house in the Roschergasse 9. Where my Tante Fanny,
Onkel Karl Broder and my cousin Rudika used to live.
