I do not remember that period; but, then, I was only 8 years old. All I remember is being in the Ghetto somewhere near Judengasse while the deportations were going on. I also remember standing under the window hoping for our name to be called out. Luckily, after several weeks of waiting, we were issued a permit to remain.
