A question regarding Hardy's Pardini promenade photo, which can more
easily be seen in detail in a link provided by Gary Rogovin (copied
below): When I printed it out in a large format, I noticed that all
the people (men only, it appears) next to the buildings on the
left-hand side seem to be crowded together, facing in one direction,
and they form a more-or-less single-file line.
So, I wonder, where are they headed? What is there on the facing
street or around the corner that all these men would be lining up for
in their good clothes? A theater? A barber shop? A special
restaurant? Would there have been a weekly event taking place there?
Here's the link to Hardy's original post of 10/12/10 --
