your mail brought me back to my youth...your late father Kurt was in the
thirties a good friend, we did some excursions on the Cecina, he was in the
same age, I am also born in 1918....I knew him through his neihbour Frtzi
Eidinger, my classmate...they lived in the Hauptstasse, corner to
Hormuzachigasse. on the same "Balcon"I knew his sister Martha, she was a
beautyful girl with curled hair...has she an e-mail adress???If she remember
me, give her my e-mail-adress...The friends called me Hedi Langhaus
I believe in my archive must be a picture from a group -"Ausflug"...Bests

Hello to all the members,
I am since a few days a new memeber and I will try to introduce myself.My
maiden name is Anny Benita Schäfer. I was born in Bucarest in 1956.I speak
Hebreu, English and French, Germain and Rumenian too but its more difficult
for me as I didn’t speak them since a long time.

My parents were (as they both died) :
- my mother, Frederike Strominger born in Czernowitz in 1925, passed away in
2003 in Tel Aviv. Her parents were : Sabine Fuhrmann born in Czernowitz and
Dr Bernhard Strominger born I think in Suceava. He was a lawyer in
Czernowitz. His father was Carl Haiim Israel and his mother was Anna
Fuhrer,one of his uncles was Dr Perez Strominger from Suceava and Salomon
Strominger from Radaoutz.My mothers sister, Emma Berkowitz Schotten feld
born in Czernowitz, lived in USA and passed away in May 2010.

-my father, Kurt Schäfer born in Vienna 1918,passed away in 1966 in Tel
Aviv. His parents were : Mina Retter (died in 1945, buried in Czernowitz)
and Benno Schäfer who was an Architect and I think also the architects
president in Czernowitz. He died in 1934 and is buried in Czernowitz. My
fathers sister Martha Schafer Vortreflich born in Czernowitz in 1922, lives
in Israel Tel Aviv.

We left Bucarest in 1961 to Israel, I grew up in Tel Aviv and have left to
france on November 1973 just after the Kipour war with my husband. We live
near Paris since then. My husband is Gilles Zvi Sion Chemla, born in Tunis,
he’s an artist, painter modern art. We have 3 children (Wendy, Cathy and
Ouri)4 grand-children (Adam, Léa, Yael and Dan).
I work since 30 years for British Airways World Cargo based in roissy CDG
airport as admin & accounts executive.

I have started my family researches in 2003 as I am the last person of my
maiden name and my mother too was the last person of her name as we didn’t
have brothers. I needed and still need to findout who was my family, how did
they live, my origin etc…and that I need to leave something for my children.
I have found so many details and discovered some members of the family which
lives in Israel, Argentina, Canada, Switzerland and Germany.

It permitted me to draw our family’s trees and to continue the one that my
father has done when he was young. His tree starts on 1540.

If anyone has more details and maybe pictures that can help me, please let
me know.
