We didnt have much music during the war.
No mood for music . We stayed mostly at home for good reasons.
My aunt , who stayed in the same house ,had a gramophone.
The latest His Masters Voice machine with the big "Trumeiter" funnel that
is.
She also had many records : All Beethoven Symphonies and light
    classics.
Then came 1942 with the additional deportations and the gramophone
went to the officer in charge of collecting Jews for deportation.
3 soldiers carried it away : One the machine, another the cabinet and
      one more for the records.
So the gramophone went and we stayed.
       No more music.
But there were radios in the apartments of the rumanians
who replaced the Jews. And there was the cinema.
There was Lili Marlen standing by the lantern.
And Tino Rossi singing Bel ami. And Marinella.
            And Ian Kiepura .
And funeral marches played on the way to the cemetery.
These we enjoyed immensly - specially the tuba .
              We didnt miss music.
I dont remember what music it was ,but we enjoyed all .
Then I also made music on my fiddle but this is
           not worth mentioning.
             Therefore I dont.
