[Cz-L] Sad news of a fellow Bukoviner

It is with great sorrow that I learned of the passing of Rae Barent on
Sunday,
December 19th, of one of the longest standing members of RomaniaSIG*
and an avid researcher of her family roots in Bukovina, primarily in the
area of Radauti.

Rae had been a hard working "ROM-SIG" member, and a board member of
the SIG in its earliest days, when Sam Elpern (the originator) was alive and
it
was a stand-alone organization - before it even came under the umbrella of
JewishGen*. In those days, the RomSIG quarterly journal was a hard copy
one, mailed to subscribers. Rae was also the Membership Chair.

A courageous, intelligent lady and a friend - we are all deeply indebted
to her for her caring and devotion! She will be very much missed!
