[Cz-L] Counting steps.

In 1940 -41 I visited the 26 Primary school on Schulgasse near the
clinlique. Our teacher was a Mr. Schulman.
  I was in grade 2 and we had just mastered numbers.
 I could count up to the thousands.
   One day our teacher gave us a task : To count how many steps there
   were from school to home. To report results next day.
     Joyfully I started my task on my way home.
 " Eins, zwei , drei "it went as I stepped down the Schulgasse till the
    Turkenbrucke and then turn right up - 45 , 46 , 47 - up the Turkengasse.
      Here I met Igo who just dicovered a nest of snails .
     As I found interest in things that crawled I joined Igo in the hunt
     not before memorizing the count .
       Later on on the Landhausgasse I was met by a horde of dogs
    chasing a bitch down the Nikolausgasse.
      I wouldn't miss the scenery and followed. Again I remembered the step
count.
       On my way on , by the Greek Catholic Church there was a crowd
       awaiting a funeral. From upstreet you could already hear the music.
      Soon the procession was here with beautifully masked horses.
       And the big brass instruments.
        Soon they passed down the street with me joyfully following.
         Then it struck me : I forgot the count !
         " What am I going to tell the teacher ?"
            I returned to school and counted my steps again .
          Without interruption.
            It was around 950 steps..
             If you dont believe - it is from the Polyclinique to
Russischegasse 46.
            You can check.
