Borispol airport is close enough to Kiev city to allow a day tour,
returning in time for the CZ flight. There are local guides as well as
travel agencies that offer such day trips. The flight to CZ is
domestic and since one is already checked in from Tel Aviv, it is
possible to be back at the airport an hour or so before take off.
I wouldn't recommend the round about route through Athens and
Timisoara. Apart from triple the hassle, the chance of luggage not
keeping up with you is greatly enhanced.
